The latest from TOP TEN, the Avantgarde head guard is a modern, new design with many new features. Like the Classic TOP TEN Olympic head guards, this new head guard is made of Bayflex®, the patented exclusive TOP TEN material that is more durable and shock absorbent than anything else available.

This exciting design provides many important, comfortable improvements including:
  1. Revised guide for the chin strap to make the head guard easier to put on.
  2. Completely revised eye openings, featuring a rounded contour around the eyes in order to further prevent eye cuts, and improved peripheral vision.
  3. 9 different openings around the head for better cooling and ventilation during combat.
  4. Redesigned interior padding shape for a more comfortable fit over the brow.
  5. Molded-in channels to direct sweat away from the face & eyes during use.
  6. Revised ear holes with improved padding and shape.

Top Ten Headguard and Faceshield August 25, 2009

My daughter Katie really wanted the Top Ten head gear and face shield, and even with the credit, it was a bit pricey (with the lovely economy and all). She is thrilled with the new gear, and is still trying to get used to the new face shield.  She seems more confident in sparring situations, and considering all she usually has for sparring partners is bigger boys, that is a good thing!  Please know that at Nelson’s Tae Kwon Do, several of the black belt students now wear your gear, and all the parents and students are extremely pleased with the protection factor!
